The Rogue is one of the best-selling vehicles in the country, the Kicks and Sentra are everywhere, and a large share of them are now past the 5-year / 100,000 km powertrain warranty. The repairs owners ask us about most are the continuously variable transmission on 2013–2018 models, the electronics, and — on the newest Rogues — the variable-compression 1.5-litre turbo. What does the Nissan factory warranty cover in Canada?
These are Nissan's Canadian terms — Canadian kilometres, not American miles, which is where most online confusion about "nissan warranty" comes from.

When does the Nissan factory warranty actually run out?
At 20,000 km a year, the basic warranty ends at three years and the powertrain warranty at five, with the kilometre limits arriving at the same moment. Many Nissan owners drive more than that — the Rogue is a commuter's vehicle — and at 25,000 km a year the powertrain warranty is done at four years.
From the finance desk, the pattern I see is consistent: coverage is easy to buy on delivery day and hard to buy at year four, when the owner finally starts thinking about it. That gap is why this business exists.

The Added Security Plan is Nissan Canada's own extended protection, sold through Nissan dealers in several coverage levels, with repairs performed at Nissan dealers using genuine Nissan parts. We sell it. It is the right answer for a good number of customers, particularly anyone buying new who wants one contract, one dealer, and no inspection. Where an independent plan fits better: you bought the vehicle used, you are past the factory warranty, you want the repair done at your own mechanic, or you simply want to compare a second written price before signing the first one.

Both are legitimate. The right one depends on whether you bought new or used, where you want the work done, and whether the dealer's price is competitive — which is exactly what a second written quote tells you.
What tends to be expensive to fix on a Nissan?
These are the repairs Nissan owners most often ask us about once the factory coverage has ended. They are common enough to plan for, not inevitable, and the costs are typical Canadian ranges for parts and labour — your shop and your region will vary.

Safety recalls are repaired free by Nissan regardless of warranty status and are not listed here. Pre-existing conditions — a fault that already exists when coverage is bought — are excluded on every extended-warranty program, which is why coverage is arranged before symptoms appear. The 1.5-litre variable-compression turbo Rogue and the 2.0 turbo Altima carry a small mandatory turbo surcharge on our programs.
What does a Nissan extended warranty cost in Canada?
